Washington Alloy ER70S-6 is a copper-coated mild steel TIG (GTAW) welding rod designed for general-purpose carbon steel fabrication and repair. Its higher levels of manganese and silicon provide strong deoxidizing properties, making it a good choice when welding steel where surface cleaning may not be ideal.

The ER70S-6 rods provide excellent weld-pool fluidity, smooth bead appearance, and good wetting characteristics. ER70S-6 is commonly used for construction, tanks, truck bodies, farm equipment, pipes, steel castings and forgings, and general shop fabrication. Washington Alloy's ER70S-6 rods are embossed with the classification at both ends for easy identification.
